Under the irradiation of light, photocatalyst will produce photocatalytic reaction similar to photosynthesis, producing hydroxyl radicals and oxygen ions with strong oxidation ability which can effectively decompose various organic compounds, destroy the cell membrane of bacteria and viral proteins, and decompose organic pollutants into pollution-free water and carbon dioxide.
The photocatalyst can take effect only under the irradiation of UV light. When the wavelength of UV light is below 388um, the performance of photocatalyst is proportional to the light intensity and the area of the filter.
