How does a laser printer work? How to remove ozone during printing

Laser printers have the advantages of fast printing speed, low failure rate, and high reliability, and have become the preferred office printing equipment for enterprises and governments. So how does a laser printer work? The printer needs to go through two stages from receiving the instruction to printing the file: data transmission and electrostatic imaging.


1. Data transmission

When the user selects the document to be printed and presses the print button, the computer will transmit the document to be printed to the printer through the printer port, and the printing language will translate the content of the document and convert it into a language that the printer can recognize. Print the document to paper.


2. Electrostatic imaging

Charging step. After the printer receives the command, it will give a charging rod (some machines are corona wires). After the charging rod contacts the drum core (photosensitive drum), a uniform positive charge will be formed on the drum core surface.

Exposure step. when the laser receives the printing task, it will irradiate the drum core (photosensitive drum) with laser light to form a positively charged content latent image.

Development step. the developing roller is actually a magnetic bar. The toner contains magnets, which can absorb the toner onto the developing roller. The scraper will scrape away the excess toner and form a thin primary toner on the developing roller. , with the rotation of the developing roller and the photosensitive drum, the negatively charged toner will be evenly adsorbed on the positively charged part of the photosensitive drum. (opposites attract)

Transfer printing. the transfer roller has a positive charge. When the paper runs on the transfer roller, it will be charged with a strong positive charge, so that it can absorb the negatively charged toner on the photosensitive drum to form a real image.

Fixing step. the toner on the paper must be heated by the fuser to make it firm. If the fixing step is not passed, the printed content will fall off when touched by hand, which seriously affects the user experience. When the paper passes through the fuser, the pressure roller and the heating tube will press the toner into the paper fiber and solidify it on the surface of the paper, making it difficult to fade. Among them, the control of heating temperature is the key to the quality of image fixing.

Cleaning step. there will be excess toner on the drum core after printing, and the cleaning scraper will scrape it away and collect it in the waste toner bin, so that the next printing will not affect the effect.

Electricity elimination. electricity elimination is to eliminate the residual charge on the surface of the photosensitive drum. Due to the electrostatic charge deposited on the surface of the photosensitive drum during charging, it will not disappear due to the transfer of the adsorbed toner particles, and will remain on the surface of the photosensitive drum after transfer.  if it is not cleared in time, it will affect the subsequent printing effect.
